We are looking for a supervisor to lead our wall department.  The right person for this job is an experienced leader with mechanical aptitude, and someone who is excited by the challenges of a fast-paced custom manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:


   Overview:

  • Create and maintain a safe and fulfilling work environment for employees and coordinate departmental activity to ensure quality standards and schedules are met with maximum efficiency.

 

   Team/Safety related:

 

  • Coordinate weekly and daily activity in the department, providing instructions that are in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop employee skillsets with training and experience
  • Plan and oversee employee career development
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Participate in hiring decisions
  • Identify and promptly address safety risks
  • Uphold company policy and procedure.
  • Maintain and improve team cohesion and morale
  • Assign wages and raises for department employees

   Quality/Delivery related:

 

  • Review output quality to ensure quality standards are consistently being upheld
  • Ensure department is maintaining pace relative to the production schedule
  • Provide feedback and coach/support employees to ensure quality standards are met
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance to make iterative improvements to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the production manager, other supervisors, and lead hands to schedule work for best plant efficiency. 
  • Coordinate tools and materials for production employees

Education and Work Experience

 

  • experience leading a team, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • Engineering Technology degree 
  • Formal leadership training is an asset
