Summary: Responsible for providing support and care to meet the physical and psychological needs of consumers through providing direct and indirect care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Medication administration under the supervision of Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, monitors medication errors, monitors pharmacy stock and medical/office supplies. Carries out medical orders under the supervision of a nurse; verifies receipt; stocks items.  Keeps medical and office equipment operating by following operating instructions and established procedures; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Performs UDS, COVID testing, pregnancy testing; disposing of contaminated supplies; sanitizing medical instruments and equipment Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; performing health screenings, reviewing and recording medical observations and history; taking vital signs. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to organization standards and policies, and to legal regulations; alerting others regarding potential concerns. Includes completing medical records by recording patient examination/observations, treatment, response to treatment, discharge plan and test results.  Maintains patient confidence and protects medical office/unit operations by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.                       Prepares patients for appt / rounds in person or via telemed with medical prescribers.   Improves medical assisting, knowledge of MH/SA/IDD populations and services and medical job knowledge by attending training sessions; reading technical publications, attending staff meetings and supervision meetings All other duties as assigned by center director or other senior management Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
