About the Role

FEI is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as a Civil Project Manager supporting land development projects from concept through completion. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for technical quality, regulatory coordination, project financials, and team management.

This position is not intended for EITs or unlicensed engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager on land development projects
  • Ensure project quality, efficiency, and compliance with standards of practice and company policy
  • Lead client relationships and coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and project accountability
  • Oversee and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Technicians
  • Prepare and review plans, reports, specifications, permits, and construction documents
  • Lead or attend meetings with clients, municipalities, boards, and agencies
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design including:
    • Subdivisions, grading, erosion control
    • Water, sewer, and stormwater systems
    • Stormwater management and final plats
  • Coordinate permitting with outside agencies

Required Qualifications

  • Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • 5+ years of land development engineering experience
  • 2+ years of project or people management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Preferred Experience

  • Ajera or similar financial/project management software
  • Client-facing consulting experience
  • Familiarity with land surveying principles
