Preconstruction Manager (Commercial Construction)

Overview:
We are seeking experienced Preconstruction Managers to support our growing teams in Asheville and Winston-Salem. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in commercial construction preconstruction, with experience bridging estimating, client communication, and operations coordination.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in commercial construction preconstruction management
• Preference for candidates with prior operations experience
• Experience managing both estimating responsibilities and client-facing deliverables
• Ability to work closely with Operations teams throughout the preconstruction process
• Strong understanding of Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Design-Build delivery models

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the preconstruction process from initial planning through project handoff
• Develop estimates, budgets, schedules, and client presentations
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure constructability and successful project execution
• Partner with owners, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders throughout the preconstruction phase
• Support accurate project planning and risk identification

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong estimating background with client-facing experience
• Experience working on commercial construction projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners
• Experience supporting CMAR and Design-Build projects

Ideal Candidate:
A hands-on Preconstruction Manager who can combine estimating expertise, operational understanding, and strong client communication skills. This role is focused on managing the preconstruction process and delivering successful project outcomes rather than managing a large team of managers.
