Production Planner
Reports To: Director of Materials
Position Summary
System Logistics Corporation is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate production schedules, material availability, and project priorities to ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Materials teams to balance capacity, manage inventory, and optimize production flow across the manufacturing operation.
The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable using ERP/MRP systems to identify issues, resolve bottlenecks, and keep projects on schedule.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer delivery requirements
- Monitor material availability and production workflows to identify shortages and constraints
- Review and manage MRP recommendations and exception messages
- Coordinate production order releases and schedule adjustments
- Analyze inventory levels, demand trends, and material usage to support efficient production
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Procurement teams to support project execution
- Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems
- Generate reports and performance metrics to support operational decision-making
- Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities based on capacity and business needs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and workflow processes
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, bachelor's degree, relevant certification, or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple departments
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS/ASCM certification
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Continuous improvement experience
- Experience supporting engineer-to-order or project-based manufacturing environments
