The Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist provides expert care for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions, including mental illness and personality disorders, as well as challenges in their support systems. This role requires a clinician who can assess and treat these complex needs with minimal supervision, relying on professional knowledge, experience, and judgment.

Applicants must hold a license issued by the governing board for human service professions. Both fully licensed and associate-licensed clinicians are encouraged to apply. Some services may require additional experience, licensure, or education.

           

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating intensive adult substance use groups, and conducting individual sessions for group members.
  • Coordinates closely with the interdisciplinary team to best help service users, including behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals and the Clinical Director.
  • Running individual, family and group outpatient therapy sessions.
  • Orienting new service users to RHA
  • Developing person-centered plans with individuals
  • Oversee the discharge planning process
  • Facilitating relationships between RHA, individuals, families/legal guardians and various social service community resources, such as food stamp and housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement and substance abuse support groups​
  • Excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions.
Job Requirements:
  • Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina

  • License include: CCS or LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC in North Carolina

  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
