Provides support for individuals and/or groups of persons with disabilities in the community. Assists the person(s) receiving services in identifying and communicating his or her requests and needs for services and supports. Implements services and supports to address the person’s goals and desired outcomes as identified through each person’s Centered Plan. Seek to understand the individuals in the context of their personal history, their social and family networks, and their hopes and dreams for the future. Payrate: $16.25
Sign on Bonus: $2,000.00
The Position Summary: Bring your skills and passion to our team of dedicated caregivers as a Direct Support Professional and watch your efforts make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. In this rewarding, entry-level role you will be a key member of a care team, helping people identify and achieve their goals and live their best lives.  From one day to the next, you’ll wear many hats — advocate, cheerleader, teacher, shopping partner, role model, coach, and more — supporting people in both their home and community.Â
Position Requirements:Â
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred (TN))Â
- At least 18 years of ageÂ
- Valid drivers’ licenseÂ
Skill requirements:Â
- Conflict resolution Â
- Some computer skills preferred Â
- Decision making Â
- Communication skills Â
- Ability to maintain good work attendanceÂ
- Ability to maintain confidentiality Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights.
- Promote healthy living and prevent illness and accidents.Â
- Increase awareness of self-advocacy and support individual choice and decision-making.Â
- Accompany people to work, the movies, concerts, shopping, and other community outings. Â
- Teach independent living skills. Â
- Provide transportation to appointments.Â
- Foster positive relationships within the community.Â
- Promote decision-making about living, work, and social relationships.Â
- Assist with personal care and bathing, help around the home (laundry, cleaning, and decorating) Â
- Document the care you provide.Â
- Provide education on human, legal, and civil rights. Â
- Understand diverse challenges of those living with disabilities and use effective advocacy strategies. Â
- Connect people with resources to further explore opportunities in their career, education, volunteerism, etc. Â
- Â Promote effective communication.Â
- Assist in medication administration where state law allows.Â
- Protect confidentiality. Â

Pre-employment screening:
