The Material Technician is responsible for the movement of materials within the warehouse and from the warehouse to other departments. The work primarily involves the use of fork truck, pallet jack, or other mechanical means of transportation to stock and pick required materials according to internal and external customer orders.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Retrieve Transport Orders (TO’s) from shipping office.
  • Assist in locating and physically picking product listed on TO’s and other load lists.
  • Safely staging picked material in an organized and neat fashion.
  • Confirmation of TO’s via RF scanning of picked material.
  • Physical palletization of picked material.
  • Collect labels from shipping office and accurately and neatly apply them to the correct material.
  • Stage completed outbound (OB) material and pallets in a safe, neat and organized manner.
  • Reporting of accurate and detailed weights and dims to the shipping coordinator.
  • Collect trucking BOL’s from shipping coordinator and place them in their assigned location on the dock.
  • Load outbound trucks as needed.
  • Assist in unloading any material received through the South Dock.
  • Unload, unpack and put away fabric rolls.
  • Operate industrial powered equipment to transport all manner of products and materials, in a safe manner, from one area to another.
  • Receive, sort, palletize, and distribute materials to appropriate destinations on timely manner
  • Examine incoming or outgoing shipments and verify accuracy against receiving and shipping documents
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned.

 

Education:     HS Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Experience:   1+ year of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
