We are currently hiring for a Fabricator in our Ashland, VA location. This position will safely perform manufacturing operations in accordance with job card and engineering drawing requirements to produce quality parts. 

Duties / Responsibilities 

  • Follow all safe working practices.
  • Operates production machinery and hand tools.
  • Reads and follows all job card requirements, technical specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Works productively and efficiently.
  • Maintains the work area in a neat and organized manner.
  • Reports discrepancies to production management.
  • Performs routine maintenance as required to keep equipment in good working order.
  • Complies with Porvair Quality System requirements.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications / Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical experience preferred (sawing, buffing, etc.)
  • Prior shear work experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong work ethic and attentive to details
  • Strong adherence to safety and quality standards
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
  • Ability to understand drawings and produce parts accordingly
  • Ability to use common measuring equipment
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and/or alternative work shifts
