Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Machinist with strong mechanical aptitude to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot header machines in a manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills. CNC experience is beneficial but candidates must also possess strong traditional machining and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust header machines to produce parts meeting quality and production standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and tooling issues on header machines
- Perform machine changeovers, tool changes, and adjustments as required
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and specifications
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Required Qualifications
- Advanced mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machine issues
- Experience operating and maintaining header machines (cold heading or similar equipment)
- Strong understanding of machine mechanics, tooling, and setups
- Ability to diagnose root causes of mechanical failures
- Comfortable working hands-on in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CNC machining experience (mills, lathes, or related equipment)
- Experience with both manual and automated manufacturing equipment
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
- Background in high-volume or precision manufacturing
