As a Meat Cutter, you’ll prepare high-quality meat products, maintain food safety standards, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced grocery store meat department.

What You’ll Do

Cut, trim, prepare, and package meat products according to store standards
Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper labeling
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards throughout the department
Operate meat cutting, slicing, grinding, and packaging equipment safely
Stock and organize meat displays and refrigerated cases
Monitor temperatures and proper product storage procedures
Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction
Train and support meat cutter trainees and department team members
Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with meat selections and recommendations
Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

Must be at least 18 years old due to equipment and work restrictions
Previous meat cutting, butcher, food handling, grocery, or retail experience preferred
Knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and sanitation standards
Ability to operate meat cutting and packaging equipment safely and efficiently
Strong customer service and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and store procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Work Environment

Fast-paced grocery store meat department
Exposure to refrigerated coolers, freezers, and sharp cutting equipment
Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
