Job Title: Concrete/Carpenter
Location: Rockville, Virginia
Job Type: Full-Time + Per diem ($90/Daily) if out of 50 mi radius.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Concrete/Carpenter to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct, install, and dismantle concrete formwork using wood, metal, and engineered forming systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and secure forms according to project requirements.
- Place, spread, level, and finish concrete for foundations, slabs, walls, columns, sidewalks, and other commercial structures.
- Assist with concrete pours, including screeding, floating, edging, and finishing.
- Install embeds, anchor bolts, expansion joints, and other concrete accessories.
- Strip and clean forms for reuse.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Assist with layout, framing, and other rough carpentry tasks as needed.
- Perform demolition and site preparation work.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Work closely with supervisors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in commercial concrete construction and/or carpentry preferred.
- Ability to read tape measures and basic construction drawings.
- Experience with concrete form systems (wood, Symons, Doka, Peri, EFCO, or similar) is preferred.
- Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques.
- Ability to safely operate construction tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when project schedules require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts when required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Commercial construction sites.
- Exposure to dust, noise, concrete materials, and changing weather conditions.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toe boots.
