We are currently hiring for a Receiving Associate in our Ashland, VA location. The Receiving Associate will receive, inspect and route incoming materials/products to proper locations at Porvair Filtration Group. This role focuses on handling, moving, and organizing goods to ensure that incoming shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Duties / Responsibilities 

Receiving and Inspecting Goods

  • Receive and route incoming materials.
  • Unload shipments and inspect products for damage or discrepancies.
  • Verify shipment contents against purchase orders or invoices.

Inventory Management

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Assist and complete inventory cycle counts.
  • Organize and store products in designated areas.
  • Allocate materials and labor to higher level assemblies.
  • Satisfy customer’s documentation and retention requirements maintain receipt records and documents.
  • Disburse products into and out of stores.

General Warehouse Duties

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Coordinate with other functional areas of the business (Purchasing, Quality, etc.) and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective and preventative action investigations.
  • Comply with the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Training Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience using an MRP/ERP system
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Prior experience in an inventory/receiving role preferred
  • Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office program
  • Must be self-motivated and highly organized
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Mustexhibitindependent thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to conduct analytical research
  • Ability to safely use and instruct other personnel in the safe use of power tools
