SITE UTILITY FOREMAN

Southwood Building Systems, Inc. is seeking a high energy individual to join our team as a Site Utility Foreman to oversee ground-up commercial site development.

Focus: Underground infrastructure, wet utilities and municipal specifications

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading pipe laying crews

2. Managing trench safety (OSHA Competent Person)

3. Coordinating with management for labor and material accuracy

4. Scheduling with on-site management

5. Managing the use and maintenance of specialized equipment and tools, ensuring they are available and in good working condition

6.  Train crew members on best practices, safety procedures and technical skills specific to underground utility work

7. Monitors work quality to ensure it meets industry standards and project specifications

8. Maintains detailed records of work performed, materials used and project progress

9.  Act as a liaison between field crews, and management, ensuring clear and effective communication

Qualifications/Experience:

•  Extensive experience with deep trenching, water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm drainage.

•  Knowledge of VDOT/Local municipal specifications

•  Ability to address and resolve complex technical and logistical issues

•  Strong commitment to maintain high safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations

•  May require specific certifications related to underground utility work and safety
