Job Description

The Outbound Team Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Shipping department.  Including all product initially received through the warehouse and the handling of all paperwork pertaining to that merchandise. Tracks performance and attendance for all personnel assigned to the shipping area. This position is also responsible for safety, organization and cleanliness.

YOUR TASKS

  • Leading and supervising a team of warehouse associates during the outbound process.
  • Assigning work and monitoring productivity to ensure daily shipping goals are met.
  • Overseeing order picking, packing, staging, and loading of outbound shipments.
  • Ensuring orders are accurate, complete, and shipped according to customer and carrier requirements.
  • Monitoring labor allocation and adjusting staffing based on workload and priorities.
  • Coaching, training, and developing team members while providing performance feedback.
  • Enforcing safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.
  • Investigating and resolving shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, and operational issues.
  • Coordinating with Inventory Control, Inbound, Transportation, Quality, and Operations leadership to maintain workflow.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1- 2 years' experience
  • Demonstrated Shipping experience in a fast paced distribution center environment
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Safety knowledge
