Overview

Job Summary

Performs chemical analysis, process monitoring, and quality control testing to support anodizing and electroless nickel plating operations. Responsible for maintaining bath chemistry, conducting routine laboratory analysis, troubleshooting process issues, documenting results, and ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements. Collaborates with production and support teams to optimize process performance, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory chemical testing according to established chemistry control plans
  • Accurately document test results using online statistical software
  • Determine appropriate chemical additions using statistical software, and perform those chemical additions to maintain compliance
  • Execute the dumping and replenishment of chemical tanks based on pre-determined schedule
  • Ensure chemicals are properly labeled, handled and stored according to company procedure(s)
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of laboratory
  • Must be able to drive a forklift (no prior experience necessary)
  • Able to work 50% of day in laboratory setting and 50% of day on production/plant floor
  • Part-time management of in-house waste treatment systems
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related job functions as needed
  • Weekend on-call rotation as needed
  • This position may require flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs, production demands, project deadlines, or emergency situations. Candidates should be willing to adjust their schedules as needed

Work Environment

  • Must be comfortable working in occasional hot temperatures/weather, high humidity levels, and occasional cold temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
  • Must be able to maneuver a 55-gallon drum or large barrel of chemical that varies in weight (500-700lbs)—mechanical assistance available
  • Must successfully complete Half-Face and Full-Face Respirator Training (no prior experience necessary)

 

Experience and Education

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Prior laboratory experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively utilize language: speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Must possess effective verbal and interpersonal communication.
  • Must display a professional appearance and attitude.
