Job Description

Development Intern

As a Development Intern, you will report to the development analyst team. Your role will primarily consist of compiling, analyzing, and reporting data for student housing, build-to-rent, and/or multifamily development opportunities. In your role, you will be expected to make contributions that help inform the firm’s development decisions.

The Fall Internship dates are August 18, 2026 - December 4, 2026.

Reports to: Development Analysts

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the Development Intern’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed:

· Research market conditions and report/present quantitative data on rental rates, occupancy, pre-lease, demographics, supply, demand, and other market indicators in target markets.

· Assist in underwriting pro forma financial models for potential development opportunities. This includes but is not limited to general Excel modeling and conducting research on market rents, property taxes, and government fees.

· Assist in the preparation of investment memoranda and other presentations for equity and debt capital raising.

· Assist with the preparation of offers for land purchases and ground leases.

· Perform general research and financial analysis for deals in various stages of the development life cycle.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

· Enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a relevant major (Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration, etc.) with an excellent academic record and demonstrated interest in real estate.

· Succinct and effective written and oral communication skills.

· A motivated self-starter, problem solver, and team player.

· Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills.

· Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

· Familiarity with Google Earth Pro, AxioMetrics, CoStar, College House, and Smartsheet a plus.

· Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with limited guidance and supervision.
