Overview

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join an established Neurosurgery practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. 聽This position is full-time, 5 days a week, including rotations with established APP's for weeknight and weekend call.聽

Responsibilities

  • Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and patient discharges
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations聽and record data in patient鈥檚 medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
  • Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
  • Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
  • Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
  • Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
  • Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 7 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month
