Job Description:
We are seeking an Engineering Technician (NDT) Level C to join our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Huntsville, AL. This site serves as our inert manufacturing facility for the fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. The work schedule will follow a 9/80 format but may vary based on unit operation requirements.

The Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Engineering Technician performs ultrasonic (UT) inspections on various materials and products. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining equipment, ensuring proper calibration, and conducting inspections using both automated and manual ultrasonic methods. The technician will interpret, evaluate, and report test results for specific products.

Essential Functions:
Read and interpret information from planning documents, drawings, specifications, engineering orders, and inspection procedures
Develop work instructions from approved general procedures
Work with senior NDT engineers to establish ultrasonic (UT) inspection procedures
Using UT techniques, detect and identify defects affecting quality and safety, such as cracks, inclusions, segregations, cavities, undercuts, incomplete fusion, and porosity
Determine the acceptability of items with marginal defects and reject those that do not meet standards and specifications
Set up and calibrate equipment with limited oversight from senior NDT engineers
Prepare components for non-destructive testing using available equipment and processes
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience

Ability to work effectively in a digital work environment
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting
Willingness to learn, develop, and grow in the role
Certification as a Level 2 Radiographic Inspector, ASNT/NAS410 or equivalent
Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations
Knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, and equipment
Familiarity with various non-destructive testing methods
Ability to interpret engineering specifications, drawings, blueprints, production plans, and work instructions
