The Classic Center – Athens, GA

The Classic Center is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Housekeeping Team Lead to help maintain the high standards of cleanliness and care our guests, clients, and community expect. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a fast-paced event-driven environment.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager and working closely with the Director of Operations, the Housekeeping Team Lead plays a key role in overseeing daily and event-related cleaning operations while working alongside the housekeeping team. 

This position is primarily scheduled for evening and post-event shifts and is essential to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support housekeeping staff during event days, post-event cleaning, and non-event operations
  • Perform and oversee cleaning duties throughout the facility, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and restocking supplies
  • Help assign tasks, supervise work, provide coaching, and support training for housekeeping staff
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure all areas meet established building expectations
  • Train staff on procedures, safety practices, equipment use, and proper chemical handling in accordance with MSDS guidelines
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for hourly housekeeping staff and third-party staffing partners
  • Oversee back-of-house cleanliness and operational efficiency
  • Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, parts, and chemicals, and assist with annual equipment inventory
  • Prepare the facility to meet the needs of events, clients, and guests
  • Ensure the building is clean and presentable before, during, and after events to enhance customer satisfaction

What We’re Looking For

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role, preferably in arenas, convention centers, stadiums, or theaters
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, team-first approach
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain CPR certification
  • Valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain one

Physical Requirements

This role is active and hands-on. Team members regularly stand, walk, use their hands and arms, and communicate verbally. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, or crouching may be required. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is necessary.



The candidate who is selected for this position will have to successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check.
