Summary: Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator
As a Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator, you will keep production moving by safely transporting, loading, unloading, and storing steel coils using forklifts and overhead cranes. You will help maintain a clean and safe warehouse, complete basic paperwork and system entries, and support the team with a variety of hands-on material handling tasks.
Responsibilities: Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator
As a Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator, you will:
- Transport, load, unload, and store steel coils in appropriate locations using overhead cranes, and related warehouse equipment
- Inspect and assist in packaging steel, stainless steel, and aluminum coils as needed
- Manage scrap metal and follow company processes for handling and disposal
- Complete required paperwork and basic system input for each product or work order
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, keeping it free of trash and scrap
- Follow safety procedures, work orders, and company policies at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, machine operators, and team members to maintain workflow
- Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills: Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator
To be successful as a Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator, you should have:
- Basic reading and writing skills in English to read work orders, safety information, and policy manuals
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Proficient basic math and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow and give instructions clearly
- Solid communication skills and ability to work closely with others in a team environment
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality
Experience & Education: Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator
For the Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator role, we require:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Crane Operator certification (required)
- Prior metals, steel, or coil processing experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate
Work Authorization: Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator
- Work authorization in the United States is required for the Warehouse Material Handler / Crane Operator position.
**This is a 3rd shift position 9:45pm-6:15am**
