Position Title: Paving III
Department: Paving
Location: Athens, AL
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate paving machines/skid steers
- Experience as a milling ground operator
- Operate various types of shovels, including hand shovels and mechanical shovels, to perform digging, scooping, and material handling tasks
- Perform tasks such as leveling ground, creating trenches, or clearing debris as required by project specifications
- Use rakes to level, spread, and smooth materials such as gravel
- Assist in creating and maintaining paving features
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including disposing of waste materials and ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans
- Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
- Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards
- Ability to obtain Arsenal and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
- Dependable transportation
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
- Work weekends and overtime as needed
- Committed to attending work each day
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
