Position Summary:Ā
TheĀ Pre-KĀ Lead Teacher willĀ beĀ responsible forĀ the overall supervision and daily functionsĀ of his/her classroom. Additionally, Lead TeachersĀ are responsibleĀ forĀ creating a safe, engaging, and developmentallyĀ appropriate classroomĀ environment.Ā This positionĀ is responsible forĀ lesson plan development and implementation,Ā classroom management,Ā parent communication, andĀ fosteringĀ a love of learning in young children.Ā
KeyĀ ResponsibilitiesĀ
Ā Classroom Leadership & TeachingĀ
- Plan and implementĀ developmentallyĀ appropriateĀ lessonĀ plansĀ and daily classroom scheduleĀ in accordance withĀ Frog Street curriculum, otherĀ curriculumsĀ as supplied,Ā andĀ BHSĀ best practices.Ā Ā
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encouragesĀ learning,Ā exploration,Ā and creativity.Ā
- Use a variety of teaching methods, includingĀ direct instruction, small and large groups,Ā play-based learning, music, movement, and sensory activities.Ā
- CloselyĀ monitorĀ child progress andĀ learning outcomesĀ toĀ prepare students forĀ Kindergarten.Ā
Child Development & CareĀ
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of children at all times.Ā
- Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development.Ā
- Observe and document each child's progress, sharing insights with families.Ā
- Prepare for and conduct parent teacher conferences twice during the school year to communicate child progress with parents.Ā
- Differentiate instruction as needed toĀ support each childās learning and development.Ā
Ā Team Leadership & CollaborationĀ
- Mentor and guideĀ AssistantĀ Teachers, ensuring a smooth classroom workflow.Ā
- Maintain open, professional communication withĀ school leadership,Ā familiesĀ and staff.Ā
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and training.Ā
Classroom Management & ComplianceĀ
- Observe all rules, regulations, andĀ best practicesĀ in accordanceĀ withĀ DECALĀ stateĀ licensing guidelines, company policy, and other regulatory bodies to ensure the health, safety, and care ofĀ children.Ā Ā
- Ā MaintainĀ a clean, organized, and nurturing classroom.Ā
- Adhere to health and safety protocols, includingĀ toileting, sanitation, and emergency procedures.Ā
- Communicate with parents daily about their childās development, milestones, and concerns.Ā
Qualifications:Ā
- Passionate about early childhood education and child development.Ā
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate learning and behavior guidance.Ā Ā
- Able to create a warm, engaging, and structured learning environment.Ā
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Ā
- Organized, patient, and adaptable to children's needs.Ā
Position Requirements:Ā
- DECAL requiresĀ Lead teachers in GeorgiaĀ to have one of the following valid and current certificates or credentials:Ā
- StronglyĀ Preferred:Ā Certified teacher inĀ Early Childhood or Birth to Five education or aĀ Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education,Ā Child DevelopmentĀ or a related degree.Ā
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child DevelopmentĀ (AA, AAS, AAT).Ā
- Minimum of 2ā3 years of teaching experience in a licensed early childhood education (ECE) programĀ in aĀ lottery fundedĀ PreKĀ orĀ private PreK. Experience in private orĀ publicĀ school. Experience in private orĀ public schoolĀ settings is also preferred.Ā
- Ability to passĀ comprehensiveĀ background checkĀ and drug screen.Ā
- CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).Ā
- Ability to lift toĀ 40Ā lbs.Ā and engage physically with children throughout the day
