Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will take ownership of core accounting processes while partnering closely with the Controller. This role offers a strong mix of technical accounting, and cross functional collaboration in a stable manufacturing environment where accuracy, curiosity, and continuous improvement are valued. You will have real visibility into how products are built, how costs move through the business, and how financial insights support better decision making, while continuing to grow your career in a supportive, team-oriented culture

 

This role will be onsite in Athens, GA. Relocation Assistance is available.

Responsibilities

  • Own key components of the month end close, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Reconcile, validate, and record monthly credit card spending
  • Work with broader accounting team to own and reconcile monthly inter-company transactions
  • Own sales and use tax filings, record prepayments, and resolve outstanding filings with states
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly for audit readiness
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and supporting compliance with GAAP, manufacturing regulations, and internal controls
  • Field ad-hoc reporting and requests and other responsibilities as assigned or required
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and streamline accounting workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 4 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Confidence and intermediate efficiency working in Excel and ERP systems with the ability to analyze and interpret data
  • A detail-oriented mindset paired with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with accounting and non-finance partners

Nice to Have

  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA licensure
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and/or inventory accounting
  • Experience in manufacturing environments
  • Experience with Infor or similar manufacturing ERP systems
  • Experience working closely with sales, plant, or operational teams
