Description

Answers switchboard in a courteous manner. Routes calls to appropriate department/individual

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Previous experience as a switchboard operator in large call volume setting preferred.

Must possess excellent communication and computer skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical/Mental Requirements

Ability to sit/stand for long periods

Ability to visually and audibly perform all essential functions for timely responsiveness.

Precise hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity required.

Ability to make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems.

Must be able to deal with a variety of personalities with whom the employee comes into contact, both pleasant and irate.

Working Conditions

Category III: Unexpected Exposure: The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids. Personnel who perform these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
