SUMMARY:聽聽

This position is responsible for hiring, training,
monitoring, and administering the job duties for QA hourly personnel. This
includes monitoring and maintaining Quality Assurance programs to verify that
product specifications are met, communicating with all levels of management and
the USDA, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This
position also requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested
corrections, tracking corrective actions to the customer, government, and QA
inspections until discrepancies are resolved, and directing and scheduling
laboratory and in-plant quality assurance testing as required on a shift basis.

聽聽

Other duties include assisting in the development of
analytical skills used to evaluate problems and provide sound technical advise
to resolve situations, working on special projects as assigned by the QA
Manager (i.e. writing procedures, capability studies, records organization,
computer application, and implementation), and performing other
responsibilities as the need arises. This position is responsible for food
safety, food quality, and legality.聽

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
聽聽

  • Lead integration of the current quality
    聽assurance and food safety processes into one integrated process: standard
    聽operating procedures (SOPs), incoming ingredient inspections, product
    聽scoring, food safety audits, field complaints, standardized work
    聽instructions.聽
  • Develop and maintain systems to assure
    聽facility meets all System requirements including Commitment, Document
    聽Control and Records, Specifications, Attaining Food Safety, Verification,
    聽Product Identification Trace and Recall, Incident Management, Food Safety
    聽Fundamentals - Building and Equipment Design and Construction, and Food
    聽Safety Fundamentals - Pre-requisite Programs.聽
  • Manage finished product evaluation
    聽system and provide leadership to drive improvements in key
    聽customer/consumer Quality attributes.聽
  • Train personnel and maintain all
    聽required training records on critical food safety and quality
    聽requirements.

Oversee monitoring, verification, and validation activities to
ensure that all products leaving the facility meet the facility Food Safety and
Quality Plans.

  • Provide guidance and leadership in
    聽situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been
    聽identified related to food safety and/or quality attributes.聽
  • Reassess plan(s) when ever there is a
    聽change to program, process, procedure, ingredient, equipment, industry
    聽philosophy, technology, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by QA Manager.

REQUIREMENTS:

聽聽

Education: High School Diploma or GED;
Bachelors degree from a four year college or university preferred.聽

聽聽

Experience: One plus years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and
education.聽

聽聽

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For
example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets, or creating simple queries.聽

聽聽

Communication Skills: Should have good written
and verbal communication skills.聽

聽聽

Supervisory Skills: This position is
responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical
and related tasks or activities.

聽聽
