Reports to: Corporate Safety Manager and plant HR Manager
Summary: This position will be responsible for the all Safety related issues at the plant, ensuring that policies are followed and enforced. This position will also be need the ability to administer first aid. Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Implement and enforce all safety policies and procedures
- Knowledgeable in OSHA,EPA,NFPA,and NEC regulations
- Ability to complete accident investigations and root cause analysis
- Ability to treat minor injuries requiring 1st aid
- Maintain 1st aid log
- Ensure daily pallet jack, forklift and yard truck inspections are completed
- Inspections of the eye wash, emergency showers, emergency first aid kits are completed weekly
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly facility safety audits and coordinate corrective actions.
- Lead monthly safety committee meetings on both shifts
- Perform monthly emergency lighting and fire extinguisher audits.
- Maintain worker compensation information on work related injuries
- Maintain the SDS books
- Maintain drug and alcohol screening information for reasonable suspicion and worker's compensation
- Maintain LOTO logs and information
- Do all safety trainings, including pallet jack and fork lift training for personnel and annual recertification, hazard communications, hearing conservation, LOTO, blood borne pathogen, sever weather, fire prevention, PPE
- Coordinate annual plant audiometric testing for all employees
- Maintain facility signage
- All other duties as assigned by supervision
Qualifications:
- Safety coordinator experience preferred
- First aid and CPR certified
- High school or above education
- Proficient in Microsoft office, focused on word, excel, and outlook.
