Yard Driver - Atkins

Reports To: Department Manager or Shift Manager 

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Salary Range: G-3 

Job Summary: This person is responsible
for moving trailers in and out of dock doors, yard and other areas as required.
The role supports the Logistics Team as a warehouse forklift operator loading
and unloading trucks as needed.

 

Job Duties:   

• Practice safe behavior at all times,
   utilizing safe practices and appropriate PPE.  
• Move trailers to and from loading docks
   at both buildings and around two storage yards as necessary.  
• Communicate effectively via 2-way radio. 
• Daily fax inventories and BOL’s to
   Corporate Account Dept. 
• Organize trailers in storage yards.  
• Label trailers to facilitate
   identification and tracking.  
• Track trailer locations, on site.  
• Inspect trailers and yard tractor for
   necessary repairs.  
• Manage trailer and yard tractor repair
   work orders.  
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs to
   trailers and yard tractor.  
• Assist with loading and unloading of
   trailers as called upon.  
• Other duties as directed. 

Qualifications:   

• High school diploma or equivalent  
• Clean driving record  
• Able to work with minimum supervision. 
• Able to work overtime as needed. 
• Work under pressure to meet production
   deadlines. 
• Must be able to work in fast pace yard
   and warehouse environment. 
• Work in hot and cold environments
   (exposed to changing weather conditions). 
• Mechanical ability to diagnosis
   truck/trailer problems. 
• CDL helpful 

· Must follow all guidelines related to
SSOP’s, GMP’s, PPE’s, etc. 

· Must follow all rules in line with the
company handbook, including attendance, break times, etc. 

· Must be able to stand for long periods of
time and work in a hot/cold or wet/dry environment.
