We are currently seeking a motivated Platform Avionics Technician to join the Mission Systems Engineering team at Hermeus!Â
\n- Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various Mission Systems including but not limited to Ground Control Stations, Flight Termination System (FTS) Vehicles, Mission Management System Avionics, and Operations Rooms. Â
- Install, configure, and maintain flight critical IT systems, communication tools, and mission systems hardware/software. Â
- Install, configure, and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs). Â
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure Mission System hardware and electrical designs are fabricated, implemented, and integrated seamlessly.  Â
- 5+ years’ experience as an avionics technician.Â
- Proficient with common avionics/RF tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, spectrum analyzers, cannon-plug tools, oscilloscopes, etc. Â
- Proficient in basic electronics maintenance and repair. Â
- Proficient in the soldering of RF coaxial connectors. Â
- Proficient in the maintenance/termination of cannon plugs, serial port connectors (RS232, etc.), and CAT5/6. Â
- Proficient in basic electronics packaging (design, assembly, cable routing, cooling, etc.). Â
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as Ethernet, switches, routers, and servers. Â
- Familiarity with command-and-control concepts, strong problem-solving and diagnostics ability, and a team-first mentality.Â
- Comfortable reading and maintaining low voltage wiring diagrams. Â
- Proficient in building aerospace-grade cable/harness assemblies (D38999 and similar).Â
- Ability and desire to travel for several weeks at a time to work on-location with the Ground Control Station at various military bases and airports.Â
- Able to lift heavy gear and thrive in hands-on environments.Â
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift for installing/maintaining/troubleshooting RF hardware that is mounted ~50-60’ above ground level. Â
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and associated Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. Â
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Â
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- 10+ years' experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex aerospace RF/SATCOM/IT systems. Â
- Proficiency in Linux. Â
- Proficient in advanced RF troubleshooting techniques. Â
- Proficient in computer networking. Â
- Prior experience maintaining operational RPA GCS’s. Â
- Certifications such as CCNA and Security+.Â
