Description

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support the providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.

The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Requirements

Below is a list of job typical MA job requirements:

  • Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Respond to patient messages
  • Assist with prescription refill
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA Standards
  • Interact with patients professionally and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and polite manner
  • Scan medical records in a timely manner
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with pharmaceutical reps and employees

*** Prior Endocrinology knowledge is a plus.
