Laborer

Description

The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project. The list of duties and responsibilities for a laborer on any given day may include the following:

Laborer Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and preparing construction sites.

• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.

• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt, concrete, and dirt.

• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.

• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.

• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.

• Following instructions from supervisors

• Must be able to work individually or within a team

• Ability to work in all weather.

• Must be punctual, reliable and be a hard worker.

• Count truck loads entails: directing trucks where to dump, sign in tickets, keeping track of time and load count, assuring trucks are lowering their bed before leaving jobsite and making sure drivers are wearing their PPE when they get out of trucks.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of construction experience.

• GED/high school diploma or related work experience.

• Trade school a plus.

• Be at least 18 years of age.

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment/materials up to 50 pounds
