Job Description:

The Buyer is responsible for managing the inventory levels and ordering of select inventoried items for RaceTrac’s regional distribution centers (DC). This individual will perform inventory analysis to avoid stock imbalances, ensure product is ordered in a timely manner, and track open purchase orders. The Buyer will follow and implement the Purchasing Manager’s plans and principles.

What You'll Do: 

• Execute regional inventory plan to ensure smooth product flow while enabling achievement of or exceeding corporate sales and margin plans.

• Perform inventory analysis to avoid DC stock imbalances, high or low.

• Report supplier/product issues to Category Management team for resolution.

• Maintain appropriate stock levels for any/all seasonal promotions.

• Ensure that product is ordered in a timely manner and in the right quantities, and track open purchase orders.

• Reduce product expiration write-offs and other types of overstocks.

• Develop working partnerships with Distribution Center Operations Team.

• Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide appropriate and speedy correction plans.

• Execute process improvements to achieve company inventory goals.

• Reduce slow moving inventories and improve inventory turns.

• Review inventory activities and recommend improvements.

• Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities.

What We're Looking For: 

• 2+ years related experience preferred

• Experience using inventory management software and/or warehouse management software preferred

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel required

Qualifications:

• 2+ years related experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel required
