Position Summary

GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a nationally recognized nonprofit organization seeking an Accountant to join their team. The role is responsible for day-to-day accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, assisting with the audit and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Essential Functions
  • Accurately code and post all cash receipts to the appropriate general ledger and accounts
  • Prepare monthly cash receipts reports and corresponding payables reports
  • Reconcile and balance cash receipts
  • Assist with the annual financial audit as requested
  • Prepare and post journal entries, including cost allocations, grant activity, and monthly accruals
  • Perform the annual physical inventory of fixed assets and maintain the fixed asset tracking system


Qualifications
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting or a related field strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced working knowledge of Excel
