Position Summary

Join a dynamic, high-performing actuarial team supporting CVS Health and Aetna’s government services pharmacy business.

This role is primarily responsible for modeling pharmacy network contracting arrangements for Aetna’s Medicare Part D business and providing actuarial support to key business partners.

The colleague will:

  • Support development and maintenance of models and processes to assess network contracting strategies and performance against expectations.
  • Work with business partners (including those in the PBM and Enterprise Pricing) to understand the details of network contracting strategies and convert these details into financial projections/modeling.
  • Support development of pharmacy network assumptions for Aetna’s Medicare Part D bids and forecasts.
  • Partner with the teams maintaining Part D pricing and forecasting models to ensure alignment on the best approach to modeling network terms/assumptions.
  • Effectively balance and manage competing priorities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on assigned projects and concepts.
  • Leverage technical skills and critical thinking to design and achieve business solutions.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree along with 3+ years related experience
  • Prior healthcare experience required
  • ASA or near-ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, R, Python a plus, working with large and detailed data sets is required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid technical/analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment with competing priorities and deadlines



Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Pharmacy, Part D, or Medicare Advantage experience
  • ASA

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
