Midsouth Steel, a well-established leader in structural steel fabrication and erection, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Assistant to support our Safety Department. This is a full-time, on-site position located at our facility near the Atlanta airport.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is interested in contributing to a strong workplace safety culture. The Administrative Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and organization of safety-related operations and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit expense reports in coordination with the company controller
  • Provide administrative support for safety-related software systems, including assisting with setup and basic user training
  • Draft, edit, and manage correspondence on behalf of senior safety staff
  • Maintain and update company safety logs, records, and compliance documentation
  • Support Safety Managers with scheduling, reporting, and day-to-day administrative needs
  • Assist in organizing safety meetings, trainings, and internal communications
  • Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information

Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel (data tracking, reporting, and organization)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, particularly safety-related processes and software
  • Previous administrative experience preferred (experience in a safety or construction environment is a plus)
