Responsibilities

The QI Clinical Data Specialist is responsible for the abstraction of data and data integrity for the various clinical registry and certification reporting requirements.  The position is responsible for managing all processes related to the collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical data used for reporting Continuous Quality Improvement and management information. 

 

Preferred skills: familiarity with data modeling; SQL experience a plus. Exposure to Excel and BI analytics tools.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

 

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience in an acute care or surgical setting.
  • Clinical background to include in-depth knowledge of the patient populations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians.
  • Computer and Internet experience and familiarity and comfort with MS Office products
  • PREFERRED

     

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous experience with data registry extraction and submission, quality assurance.
  • Advanced computer skills with spreadsheets and report writing.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts or experience with statistics.
  • Database data entry and/or management experience.
  • Basic statistical knowledge.
  • Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience.
  • Presentation skills and experience.
