The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for partnering with medical providers, hospitals, insurance companies, operations leaders and other stakeholders to ensure providers are credentialed. This position will manage all aspects of the hospital and financial credentialing processes for new hires and existing providers to include documentation, communication, monitoring, and staying abreast of credentialing specifications. Â
Essential Duties:Â
- Stay abreast of credentialing and recredentialing requirements for each client groupÂ
- Requests, reviews, and verifies credentialing applications and supporting documentationÂ
- Establish and maintain database of provider details and credentialing dataÂ
- Monitor license and certification expirations for providers to ensure timely renewalsÂ
- Notify providers and administration of upcoming expirations and documentation requestsÂ
- Collaborate with hospitals, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to extend information and track credentialing processÂ
- Provide status updates to operations leaders, providers, and other stakeholdersÂ
- Resolve issues that arise and escalate when appropriateÂ
- Other duties as assignedÂ
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:Â
- Knowledgeable on credentialing requirements and workflows for providers at differing client groupsÂ
- Familiar with healthcare jargon and terminology related to credentialingÂ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skillsÂ
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsÂ
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and credentialing related softwareÂ
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detailÂ
- Work independently and exercise judgement on decision making and issue resolutionÂ
- Navigate competing priorities and effectively work in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Manage information flow in a timely and accurate mannerÂ
- Collaborate with an array of professionals at various client groups and geographic locationsÂ
- Identify and execute opportunities for improvementÂ

Requirements
Education:Â
- High School Diploma or GED requiredÂ
Experience:Â
- Prior administrative experience in a healthcare environmentÂ
- Medical credentialing experience preferredÂ
- Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and ExcelÂ
- Experience with MS Teams and credentialing software preferredÂ
