We are seeking a highly skilled, Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist with specialized experience or fellowship training in Neuroradiology reads. In this role, you will interpret a balanced mix of general diagnostic imaging and high-volume, complex neuroimaging cases. You will collaborate closely with stroke, neurology, and neurosurgery teams to provide expert consultations and ensure timely, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialized Neuroradiology Interpretation: Read and interpret advanced neurological imaging studies, including brain and spine MRI, functional MRI (fMRI), MR/CT angiography, MR/CT perfusion, and head/neck oncology staging.
  • General Diagnostic Interpretation: Interpret standard diagnostic modalities across body systems, including digital radiography (X-ray), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a primary consultant for emergency stroke alerts, neuro-oncology tumor boards, and routine multi-disciplinary clinical conferences.
  • Procedures: Perform basic image-guided fluoroscopic and diagnostic procedures, such as lumbar punctures and myelograms, as required by clinical workflow.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Adhere to regulatory guidelines and radiation safety protocols (ALARA), while actively participating in departmental peer review and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Workflow Management: Manage worklists efficiently to maintain established turnaround time (TAT) metrics, particularly for critical findings and emergency department cases.

Required Qualifications and Education

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency program.
  • Fellowship: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Neuroradiology fellowship is highly preferred; extensive documented experience in a high-volume neuro-heavy practice will be considered.
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR).
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain one) in the practicing state.
  • Credentials: Active DEA registration and ability to successfully secure hospital medical staff privileges.

  • Advanced Neuro Expertise: Demonstrable proficiency in identifying acute ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhages, spinal trauma, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuro-oncological pathologies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating modern PACS, voice-recognition dictation systems (e.g., PowerScribe), and advanced 3D post-processing software.
  • Clinical Communication: Exceptional communication skills for delivering precise, clear diagnostic reports and immediately conveying critical values to referring physicians.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a high-volume clinical environment, successfully balancing routine general worklists with time-sensitive neuro-critical alerts.
