Position Purpose Summary:

The Director of Marketing leads the enterprise marketing strategy for Heritage Distribution Holdings, strengthening the corporate brand while enabling local operating companies to execute market-specific initiatives. This role establishes brand standards, marketing governance, strategic priorities, and digital capabilities that align local marketing activity with enterprise objectives. The Director partners with operating-company leaders and local marketing teams to maximize corporate marketing investments, strengthen OEM relationships, improve customer engagement, and support profitable organic growth. The successful candidate balances enterprise consistency with regional flexibility and builds strong alignment across a decentralized organization.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Develop and steward the enterprise brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and visual standards across Heritage Distribution Holdings and its operating companies.
  • Establish marketing governance, brand standards, operating guidelines, and best practices that create consistency while allowing appropriate regional flexibility.
  • Align local marketing plans and campaigns with enterprise strategy, growth priorities, customer needs, and market-specific opportunities.
  • Lead the enterprise marketing investment strategy, including allocation and oversight of corporate marketing resources that support locally driven initiatives.
  • ​Responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing an enterprise marketing budget exceeding $2 million annually.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to local marketing teams, promoting effective administration of marketing funds, execution of enterprise initiatives, and alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Lead enterprise marketing programs that support profitable organic growth, customer engagement, brand awareness, and OEM partnerships.
  • Define and advance the enterprise digital marketing strategy, including standards and capabilities for websites, CRM, marketing automation, analytics, digital campaigns, and related platforms.
  • Partner with OEMs and operating-company leaders to improve the effectiveness, visibility, and return of joint marketing programs and available marketing funds.
  • Establish performance measures and reporting that evaluate brand consistency, customer engagement, marketing investment effectiveness, digital adoption, and contribution to business growth.
  • Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and adoption of proven marketing practices across operating companies while building strong local buy-in.
  • Effective stewardship of enterprise marketing investments while demonstrating measurable return on marketing spend and strategic allocation of corporate marketing resources.

Certifications:

• Professional marketing, digital marketing, CRM, analytics, or related certifications are preferred but not required.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.

• Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.

Years of Experience:

• At least 10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including enterprise, multi-brand, or decentralized organizational environments.

• Experience leading marketing strategy, brand governance, digital marketing, and cross-functional initiatives across multiple business units or locations.

• Experience managing marketing investments, OEM or channel-partner programs, and local-market execution is strongly preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Enterprise brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and governance

• Digital marketing strategy, CRM, marketing automation, websites, analytics, and performance measurement

• Ability to lead through influence and build alignment across decentralized teams

• Strategic planning, budget stewardship, and marketing investment optimization

• Strong executive communication, collaboration, facilitation, and change-management skills

• Ability to balance enterprise standards with local-market flexibility and customer needs

• Experience strengthening OEM, channel, or strategic partner marketing relationships

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%
