Position Details

  • Title: Director of Finance (Fractional / Part-Time)

The Role

The Director of Finance will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing financial strategy, accounting operations, and financial reporting while helping build scalable financial systems to support company growth.

This role also supports client engagements that require financial operational assessments, advisory services, and occasional fractional financial leadership.


The position is structured as a fractional / part-time leadership role, ideal for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working in entrepreneurial environments and helping growing companies improve financial clarity and performance.


What You’ll Do


Financial Leadership

  • Advise leadership on financial strategy, profitability, and operational performance
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Develop dashboards and financial reporting that support decision-making
  • Provide financial modeling, margin analysis, and performance insights

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Oversee bookkeeping, financial reporting, and month-end close
  • Establish financial controls and reporting standards
  • Improve efficiency through process improvements, automation, and AI-enabled tools
  • Support recruiting, mentorship, and development of internal accounting staff

Client Advisory

  • Conduct financial operational assessments for clients in construction and related industries
  • Advise on financial structure, reporting, job costing, and profitability
  • Support implementation of financial systems, reporting frameworks, and operational processes
  • Provide supplemental or interim financial leadership when needed

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate and improve accounting systems and reporting workflows
  • Support implementation of financial dashboards and project-based reporting tools
  • Introduce automation and AI tools to improve efficiency and scalability


What We’re Looking For


  • 10+ years of finance leadership experience
  • Strong experience in construction, contracting, trades, or project-based industries
  • Deep understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial management
  • Experience building financial reporting systems and operational financial processes
  • Strong financial modeling and strategic planning capabilities
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear insights for business leaders
  • Comfortable working in entrepreneurial and growth-oriented environments
