Position Summary

The Enterprise Solutions Architect is a strategic technology leader responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the organization's application, infrastructure, cloud, integration, and technology architecture. This role serves as the bridge between business strategy and technology execution, ensuring that all technology investments align with enterprise goals, security standards, scalability requirements, and operational excellence objectives.

The Enterprise Solutions Architect provides leadership across digital products, enterprise applications, infrastructure platforms, cloud services, and emerging technologies. This individual partners closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams, and external vendors to drive innovation while maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and technology roadmap
  • Develop future-state architecture strategies that align with business growth and digital transformation objectives
  • Establish architecture governance processes and lead architecture review boards
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments
  • Drive modernization initiatives across application and infrastructure portfolios 

Application Architecture

  • Lead the design of enterprise application ecosystems including ERP, CRM, collaboration, operational, and custom-built solutions
  • Define standards for APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and application integration
  • Ensure application architectures are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements
  • Guide application modernization and cloud migration strategies
  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams on solution design and architectural decisions

Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture

  • Develop enterprise infrastructure strategies covering networking, compute, storage, virtualization, and endpoint technologies
  • Lead architecture decisions for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premises environments
  • Ensure infrastructure supports business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability requirements
  • Establish standards for infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and platform engineering practices
  • Optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency 

Security & Technology Governance

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to embed security-by-design principles into all architectures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and corporate governance requirements
  • Review and approve major technology designs and exceptions

Integration & Data Architecture

  • Establish enterprise integration strategies connecting cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and partner platforms
  • Define architecture standards for data movement, interoperability, and system integration
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to ensure architecture supports enterprise reporting, AI, analytics, and data governance objectives 

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership
  • Facilitate strategic technology planning across business and IT organizations
  • Mentor Solution Architects, Engineers, and Technical Leads
  • Influence technology direction without direct authority across multiple teams
  • Lead architecture workshops and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 7 to 11+ years of progressive IT experience spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud, and enterprise systems
  • 7+ years of architecture experience, including Enterprise Architect, Lead Architect, or Principal Architect roles
  • Deep expertise in enterprise application architecture and infrastructure architecture
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP)
    • Enterprise integration patterns and API management
    • Infrastructure architecture and networking
    • Security architecture and governance frameworks
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • High-availability and disaster recovery design
    • DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology decisions to business outcomes
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-facing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience of progressive IT experience spanning applications, infrastructure, cloud, and enterprise systems
  • TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, agriculture, supply chain, distribution, or retail operations
  • Knowledge of AI/ML, automation platforms, and modern digital product ecosystems
  • Experience with Operational Technology (OT), IoT, or industrial systems is a plus
  • Improve alignment between infrastructure, application, and business strategies
  • Increase adoption of cloud-native and automation-first practices
  • Improve system scalability, resiliency, and security posture
  • Enable faster and more predictable delivery of strategic technology initiatives
  • Become the trusted architectural advisor for executive and business leadership
