Join Airgas as a Field Service Technician and be a crucial part of our team responsible for installing and servicing bulk industrial and medical gas delivery systems. In this role, you'll ensure the safe operation of equipment, repairs, and maintenance of cryogenic pumps and systems, adhering to regulatory standards such as OSHA, FDA, ISO, and Airgas protocols.

Job Duties:

●Obtain safety and application information regarding products delivered and utilized by branches and customers in ASE

● Successfully complete all elements of apprentice learning and development plan in a timely fashion

● Be an active, collaborative learner in the field alongside our current field service team

● During the apprenticeship period, development and proficiency in the following areas will include, but are not limited to:

● Install cryogenic bulk installations both at Airgas facilities and customer sites.

● Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 system reliability across the team.

● Maintain and repair pressure reduction equipment associated with bulk delivery systems.

● Assess and maintain electrical systems associated with cryogenic installations, including: motor controls and relays, low pressure, high pressure, and liquid level alarm systems.

● Repair high-pressure reciprocating cryogenic pumps and low-pressure centrifugal pumps for the transfer of cryogenic liquids.

● Troubleshoot and service refrigeration units.

● Determine appropriate vaporizer sizes needed for specific applications.

● Install decals and warning signs for the proper identification of hazards, warnings, ownership, normal operational settings, emergency contacts, etc.

● Carry out the installation of piping systems in accordance with AWSA B2.2 Standard for Brazing Procedure and Performance Qualifications, or its equivalent.

● Conduct Site Surveys to ensure alignment with all federal, state/provincial, and local codes.

● Secure necessary permits or approvals from local authorities having jurisdiction prior to beginning work.

● Review structural drawings and plans to ensure the appropriateness of the pad design and layout of proposed sites.

● Ensure security fencing is provided to protect installations from tampering or unauthorized entry.

● Support Operational Due Diligence at the facilities of companies acquired by the Airgas regional company, including both high-pressure production facilities and medical and industrial sites.

● Complete annual inspections of all bulk installation sites to ensure optimal condition and reliable operation.

● Partner with the team to uphold safety policies and procedures at all times.

● Maintain an appropriate stock of recommended parts necessary to support typical installations operated by the hub.

● Keep an accurate monthly inventory of spare parts and equipment, submitting reports to the regional controller.

Are you a MATCH?

Required Qualifications:

● High school diploma, or equivalent.

● No at-fault driving accidents or moving violations in the previous 3 years.

● Must have, or be able to obtain, a Certified Brazer Certificate, in accordance with NFPA 99, within 30 days of employment.

●Must be able to read and write in English.

●Must have basic computer skills or willing to take classes to learn those skills.

● Must be able to work occasional overtime, if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

● EPA Certification or ability to obtain KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

● Detailed understanding of NFPA 99 and NFPA 50 requirements.

● Understand the characteristics and hazards of cryogenic and high pressure gases in general, and have specific knowledge and understanding of the products, containers and piping systems which will be encountered in the performance of their job duties.

● Ability to read blueprints and design specifications, manufacturer drawings, architectural drawings related to bulk delivery sites associated with customer installations.

● Ability to perform mathematical calculations.

● Ability to routinely lift 25 – 60 lbs.

● Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

● Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
