This full-time, year-round position is responsible for event setup and takedown, campus-wide deliveries, inventory organization, and occasional shuttle driving. Working closely with the General Services Supervisor, the technician ensures that spaces are prepared and equipment is available for school functions, creating a well-organized and responsive environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate brings reliability, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset to a physically active and varied role. Success in this position requires strong time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. By facilitating events and maintaining essential operational logistics, the General Services Technician contributes directly to Westminster’s commitment to excellence in education and community engagement. Supervisor: General Services Supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities: None Position Status:  Hourly, Non-exempt, Full-time,12-month position Hours of Work: This is a full-time, year-round position. Standard work week with non-traditional work hours expectations.  Overtime is often required, sometimes with little or no notice. Evening and weekend work will be required during periods of heavy workload, campus special events, or facilities emergencies.    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for a successful candidate. GED or High School Diploma Valid GA Driver’s License and a Westminster acceptable driving record Customer-service oriented Flexible with the willingness to use initiative and handle extra duties as needed Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion; respect and value the different experiences, ideas, and backgrounds others bring to the work environment Proven time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Work independently or with a team with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance Basic communication skills and working knowledge of the English language; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, short correspondence, and memos Professional and effective use of interpersonal and communication skills; interact with tact and diplomacy Basic computer skills with the ability to use an iPad or similar device for completing work orders, checking emails, etc.   ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Provides setups for events both on and off campus, including transporting and assembling/disassembling performance stages, tents, and other equipment  Moves various assets, such as furniture, musical equipment, etc., across campus  Assists the Shipping and Receiving Clerk with the delivery of packages, both on and off campus; documents receipt and delivery of packages utilizing tracking device Utilizes the school’s work order system to receive notice of tasks, log completion of tasks, and enter any helpful comments concerning the work/event Assists with special projects as requested Maintains inventory of departmental supplies and assets Cleans and maintains equipment; keeps warehouse organized Complies with all safety practices, procedures, and rules Perform other duties as assigned   PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; talk and hear; engage in moderately strenuous physical activity both indoors and out; and smell. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to become certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid is required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions and frequently walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.  The noise level in the work environment is often loud. Westminster is a drug-free, smoke/vape-free campus.   TRAVEL Travel is primarily local during the regular business day.  Overnight and out-of-area travel may also be required, primarily associated with planned events, conferences, and professional development opportunities.
