Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for day-to-day HR operations and delivering strategic and operational support across employee relations, talent management, compliance, performance management, employee engagement, and HR programs. This role partners closely with leadership to foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on employee relations matters.
  • Investigate workplace concerns, complaints, and policy violations, providing recommendations and resolution strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage corrective action, disciplinary processes, and terminations in partnership with leadership.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Partner with VP of HR and Operational leadership to support workforce planning.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Support employer branding and employee referral initiatives.

Performance Management & Employee Development

  • Administer performance review processes and provide coaching to managers.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to build organizational capability.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

HR Operations

  • Manage HR policies, procedures, and employee records.
  • Ensure HRIS data integrity and support system enhancements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service delivery.

Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support

  • Support compensation and benefits administration.
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
  • Assist with annual compensation reviews, market benchmarking, and benefits communications.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with JES Holdings' values.
  • Analyze engagement trends and recommend action plans to improve retention and employee satisfaction.

Leadership & Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with department leaders to align HR practices with business objectives.
  • Provide workforce analytics and recommendations to support organizational decisions.
  • Participate in special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational change initiatives as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing employee relations and HR programs.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar systems.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a multi-state or multi-location workforce.
  • Affordable housing, property management, real estate, or related industry experience.
  • Experience leading HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
