Job Description
The Inside Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing existing and new customer relationships primarily through phone, email, video, and digital channels from our Atlanta HQ. This role drives business growth by providing expert consultation on life safety and security solutions, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. The Inside Sales Account Manager serves as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts and inbound/outbound opportunities, coordinating closely with field teams, installation, service, and design to deliver quality, compliance-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
Account Management & Business Development
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients by understanding their life safety and security needs through proactive phone, email, and virtual engagement.
- Develop and execute account plans to grow revenue with key and mid-market clients.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound calling, follow-up on inbound leads, and reactivation of dormant accounts.
- Drive inspection renewals, multi-year service agreements, system upgrades, and cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
- Serve as the main internal liaison between clients and field/operations teams to ensure clear communication, timely responses, and high customer satisfaction.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets, activity metrics, and performance goals.
- Conduct virtual product demonstrations and provide technical guidance on fire alarm, video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and related life safety systems.
- Coordinate with installation, service, and design teams to support project scoping, quoting, and successful delivery while adhering to customer and regulatory requirements.
Administrative & Reporting
- Complete mandatory daily CRM updates to accurately record all activities, contacts, opportunities, and forecasts each business day.
- Promptly respond to all lead generation inquiries and participate in meetings scheduled through the lead generation program, ensuring consistent follow-up and professional engagement.
- Track and report daily/weekly metrics (calls, emails, opportunities, pipeline).
- Communicate customer and project updates during daily huddles and team meetings.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and forecasted revenue to senior management.
- Stay current on the latest products, technologies, codes, and regulations related to fire and life safety systems.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or customer success within the life safety, fire protection, security, or related B2B service industry preferred.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in a phone/virtual selling environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a high volume of accounts and activities from a desk.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (HubSpot experience a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn technical product knowledge quickly and explain solutions clearly to facility managers, property owners, and other decision-makers.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and phone.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Minimal travel required (occasional local or regional meetings as needed).
Pay Information
- Pay Type: Annual
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $110,000 USD
