This position will be responsible for evaluating Generator Step Up Transformer (GSU) station equipment for GPC owned generation assets. Specifically, transmission interconnected generation stations and interconnecting tie lines. Will work with substation support, Transmission and Distribution organizations on maintenance activity coordination. Will help determine line of demarcation for all Self Build GSU stations and for existing stations with new build generation connections.
This position handles communication with all parties impacted and ensures that a timely and accurate response is developed for each new request and existing assets.
This position will coordinate with Georgia Power Transmission, Distribution, Generation, Southern Company Services Design, and Project Management
Technical Experience Requirements:
Experience and understanding of design, operation, and maintenance processes for substations and transmission lines.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the transmission system, engineering principles, electric operating practices, construction practices and general business practices.
Strong analytical skills to identify problem areas, evaluate alternatives, financial impacts and determine viable solutions to meet both the GPC and System need.
Specific experience related to generator interconnection processes and implementation is desired.
Leadership Experience Requirements:
Demonstrated focus on Safety.
Demonstrated leadership on projects involving multiple work groups and departments.
Strong communication and presentation skills with internal and external audiences with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution system.
Ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and communicate effectively at all levels including executives, management, supervision, covered employees, contract employees, business leaders, and all customers.
Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize large volumes of project data.
Knowledge of Microsoft’s Excel, PowerPoint, and Word programs.
Knowledge of Microsoft’s Power Automate and Power BI desired
Knowledge of TEAMS, and STOMP desired.
