Peachtree Waste is hiring a Diesel Mechanic.
The pay rate is $30-$35 per hour, depending on experience. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting trucks and equipment.
  • Ensuring work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies for maintenance and repairs
  • Carrying out routine vehicle checks. (Fluids, lights, air pressure etc.).
  • Performing regular preventative maintenance on vehicles.
  • Ensuring trucks stay inspected (inspection license required)
  • Repairing vehicles (Brakes, wiring, suspension, u-joints, tires, lights, emission and more)
  • Driving vehicles to their destination for services not performed in house.
  • Using technology such as scanners and computers to perform daily duties.
  • Keeping an orderly and safe shop.

Requirements (Including Education)

  • 4 years experience in diesel engine repair 
  • Capacity to work independently steadily, and to lift/maneuver/operate heavy equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics
  • Ability to use computer diagnostic tools 
  • 2 years experience in welding

Preferred:

  • Experience with Roll Off trucks (preferred)
  • A valid driver’s license Class B CDL
  • A complete set of your own hand tools, including metric size
