What You'll Be Doing
The Sous Chef works under the supervision of the Executive Chef, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and direction of food preparation in the kitchen. Duties include:
Leadership and Management:
- Lead 聽聽聽聽聽kitchen team in chef鈥檚 absence, and provides guidance to junior staff 聽聽聽聽聽members.
- Responsible 聽聽聽聽聽for maintaining proper staffing levels for kitchen staff to maintain 聽聽聽聽聽budgeted labor cost.
- Supervise 聽聽聽聽聽and communicate with kitchen staff and management to achieve budgeted 聽聽聽聽聽costs related to labor, food, beverage, etc.
- Responsible 聽聽聽聽聽for recruiting, interviewing, and submitting recommendations for new hires 聽聽聽聽聽in Culinary operations.
- Responsible 聽聽聽聽聽for executing new hire training for kitchen staff.
- Administers 聽聽聽聽聽disciplinary action to kitchen staff when necessary and provides guidance 聽聽聽聽聽on performance improvement.
Requirements
聽聽
What We Require of You
- Possess 聽聽聽聽聽and demonstrates excellent culinary skills
- Ability 聽聽聽聽聽and willingness to work all BOH positions when necessary
- Basic 聽聽聽聽聽Computer Knowledge
- Advanced 聽聽聽聽聽knowledge of food profession principles and practices
- Experience 聽聽聽聽聽with BOH systems, ordering, and inventory management.
- Experience 聽聽聽聽聽in similar position
- Experience 聽聽聽聽聽developing staff
- Management 聽聽聽聽聽experience preferred
- Successful 聽聽聽聽聽completion of Food Safety training required with 30 days of hire
