Job Title: Multimedia Assistant

Job Purpose: We are seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented part-time Multimedia Assistant to support the installation, maintenance, and management of signage throughout the Zoo while assisting with audiovisual equipment and multimedia projects. This position is focused on supporting both large-scale projects as well as on-ground tasks and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, with the ability to multitask and who displays excellent project management skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain Zoo signage projects on an on-going basis. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing weekly signage evaluations, tracking repair and replacement needs, and fulfilling signage requests.
- Install, replace, repair, and remove a variety of signs, banners, graphics, and other visual materials throughout Zoo grounds.
- Coordinate with vendors on signage production, installation schedules, and project timelines.
- Assist in setting up and operating multimedia equipment such as AV equipment, cameras, sound systems, digital screens, etc. for on-site events, special projects, and presentations
- Create monthly output and project status reports
- Maintaining a proactive mindset when working on department projects
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail including experience with Microsoft Excel and/or project management tools.
- Comfortable performing hands-on installation work using basic hand tools.
- Time management & ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve minor technical issues
- Basic knowledge of photography and videography techniques.
- Basic knowledge of design and editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects) or equivalent tools.
- Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment
Education or Experience Requirement:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Multimedia, Production, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant hands-on experience with signage installation, audiovisual equipment, photography/videography, graphic design, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Microsoft Excel, or project management tools may be substituted for formal education.
- Experience coordinating with vendors, managing multiple projects, and performing basic installation work using hand tools is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain strong organizational and communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and/or push 25 pounds.
- Must be able to perform minor labor tasks such climbing ladders to hang banners, installing signage using basic hand tools, and maintaining the graphics storage building.
- Knowledge of, and comfort with the use of basic tools (hammer, drill, etc.)
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work Environment:
- Work outdoors in all types of weather. Zoo Atlanta is open to the public 363 days out of the year, therefore, all positions at Zoo Atlanta may require employees to work some weekends, holidays, and evenings. The position could require occasional travel to other locations. A valid Georgia license is required.
