Nanny for a Family near Lake Claire

$60,000 - $70,000+/- a year!  A private family in the Atlanta area is seeking an experienced, patient, and play-oriented nanny for their two young sons, ages 4 and almost 2. This is a permanent, full-time role, typically Monday–Friday from about 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one day ending earlier for school pickup. Occasional weekend, overnight, or travel coverage may come up (roughly once a year) but is not required. Compensation is up to $40/hour depending on experience, and candidates must be confident, capable swimmers, as pool time is a regular part of the boys' routine.

The older boy is a highly verbal, Level 2 autistic child who is academically gifted (especially with numbers and patterns), extremely silly, and a huge fan of jokes and rhymes — humor and laughter are his best regulation tools. He thrives on routine and does best when told in advance what to expect. He attends a Montessori school for half days three mornings a week, and the nanny will handle school pickup. The family is looking for someone play-oriented rather than instructional in style — someone who reads his body language, knows when to gently push and when to pull back, uses his personal "magic number" to make transitions and clean-up fun, and ideally has a background in floor time / play-therapy approaches (such as DIR/Floor time) rather than ABA. Comfort supporting him through therapy-related setbacks and helping with at-home physical therapy exercises is a plus.

The younger boy is a sweet, affectionate, independent toddler with a sunny personality who loves cuddles, cars and trucks, books, animals, and pretend cooking/play. He gets along with almost everyone and bounces back quickly if upset. He naps daily around 2:00 PM for about two hours. The family wants a patient, calm, positive, and encouraging caregiver who will make good use of one-on-one time (while his brother is at school) to build early skills like numbers and colors, and who can navigate sibling dynamics thoughtfully — for example, using turn-taking and knowing not to push the older boy on a hard day while still praising and engaging the younger one.

Ideal candidates are affectionate, loving, and feel like part of the family — excellent communicators who are highly observant, professional, punctual, reliable, mature, and fully present with the children (no phone use on the job). Experience with special needs/autism support, especially floor time or play-therapy backgrounds, is strongly preferred. The household also includes two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (light care involved) and some light housekeeping tied to the children's routines.
